Dianav a skriv "Gutenberg is a project designed by the name of the inventor of printing.
The project started in America in 1971 and is the oldest whose aim is to
digitize books which are in the public domain and distribute them for free. In this project
there are currently 22000 boks, among them 20000 in English, 1000 in French,
23 in Welsh, 4 in the Irish language and not a single one in Breton.
This is done now with the publication of the first book (about 400 pages) of
Father Quéré's Sermons.
Father Quéré (1824-1898) was a famous preacher of the end of the 19th century.
He was using a simple but very elegant traditional Breton in order to be
understood in all the parishes of Léon (North of the Finistère Department)
where he was delivering his sermons.
Rapidly, the two books of Father Quéré's sermons became in use, up to the fifties,
as true “school books” for the young priests of the parishes where Breton was in use.
The digitizing of the first book of sermons has been done with much care, while
preserving the original orthography, word hyphenation and as far as possible
the general lay out of the text.
