Perhaps... because being able to speak Welsh does not necessarly mean being interested in Breton. Welsh speakers are also comfortable in English and if they were interested in Breton they would already have caught the opportunity of this forum to ask some questions. Seeing that only ONE Welsh/English speaker asked ONE question about Breton, I can hardly think that the numerous people who speak Welsh are more interested in Breton than the (very) few German speakers who, however, use the German forum to get informations about Breton and don't clutter it with discussions about German. It's true that it's hard to find out any information about Brittany and the Breton language in Britain. Libraries and bookshops stock dictionaires from obscure languages such as Maltese and even Klingon but never do they have a Breton-English dictionary, infact I've never seen one but I'm sure they must exist? The main reason for this is the French language acting as a barrier. I already speak English and don't wish to learn another Imperial language such as French! There is a Breton/Welsh organisation in Wales called Cymdeithas Cymru Llydaw/Kevredigezh Breizh Kembre but I'm unsusre as to what they do? Dymuniadau gorau. Of course it is not perfect, but I find that kind of initiative very interesting. I am sure we have got Breton-English dictionaries in our book-shops in Brittany. I'll look for. I would like to learn to speak Breton, but would like to do it directly without having to learn it through English i.e I guess that it would be easier to do it through Welsh. Any ideas?
