Tim Magee, 2000-03-12 23:22:59 I don't know if this is Breton language or not. If so is anyone able to translate it for me? "Air A Shealgh le Seoras Gan." RE: translation question Markonatrix, 2000-03-13 04:49:23 It's Scots Gaelig and appears to be the title of a book? maybe. It translates as "Hunting Him/It" by George Gan (Gunn??) or maybe "On His/Its Trail" If the second word is actually < a' > then it means "On the Hunt" "War e helc'h" marteze??? RE: translation question Tim Magee, 2000-03-13 14:33:22 thanks for your time and effort. I'm afraid I don't understand what it is you wrote at the end of your reply though, looks like a questioin but I don't speak the language. thanks again, --tim RE: translation question Markonatrix, 2000-03-13 18:32:59 Sorry, the last bit was a hamfisted attempt at a Breton translation, but I think they may not actually have the word "helc'h" which would correspond to "sealg". Just to satisify my curiosity, what was the context and does the translation make any sense?? RE: translation question tmagee, 2000-03-14 02:17:05 The text was on a celtic design in a graphics book of a tatoo studio. I guess it is the name of the piece and the authour like you said. RE: translation question STEPHANE, 2000-04-04 18:15:29 It's the gaelic language, not breton |
