I have some songs of Gilles Servat (who I heartily recommend), and was wondering about the song "Maro Pontkalleg". I undestand parts of it, but only the words that sound like Welsh, so I was wondering if you could help me with the text. I haven't managed to find it on-line. The song is about the deatch of a breton gentleman, Clément-Chrysogone de Guer, marquis de Pontcallec, during during the french regency (1715-1723). Together with 60 other gentlemen, considering that the 1532 Union Treaty between France and Brittany had been violated by the regent and hence became invalid, he founded in 1718 a society called "Acte d'union pour la défense de libertés de la Bretagne", who conspired seeking support from the King of Spain Philip V. Four were arrested, judged by a martial court (not by the Parliamant as they should have been). They were behaded in Naoned/Nantes the 25th of march 1720. This song from the "Barzhaz Breizh" originaly has 65 verses, of which G.S. only sings 5.
